General Director of Specialized Services Office of Iran Health Insurance Organization explained:

General Director of Specialized Services Office of IHIO explained the proceedings of this organization in the field of diabetic patients and especially those who receives pen insulin after the outbreak of corona viruses

Hanan Haj Mahmoudi referred to the actions of this organization in the field of diabetic patients and especially those who receives pen insulin after the outbreak of corona viruses and added: Due to the continuation of corona viruses, the files of these patients in the Service verification system were extended in several stages so that the insured do not need to refer to the provincial offices to renew the validity of their file.
She continued: Definition of similar insulins in the service verification system was another step that was taken. Insulins that have the same effect are defined as similar, so that the insured does not need to refer to the prescription verification offices and change the file if the prescription insulin is changed by the doctor, and only the doctor's prescription is enough to change the received insulin.
General Director of Specialized Services Office of IHIO cited the increase in pen insulin commitments in the second half of 2020 as another action of this organization and added: Two kinds of pen insulin with a 10% Franchise were covered by insurance companies.
She stated: Following the request of the Ministry of Health, the details of all diabetic patients were provided to the Ministry in accordance with the principles of confidentiality of information for prioritization in vaccination.
Haj Mahmoudi pointed to the labeling of diabetic patients and added:  This action will make it possible for doctors to label a diabetic patient in the system of the organization in the future according to the criteria adopted by the organization, and the insured does not need to refer to the provincial offices to file.
General Director of Specialized Services Office of IHIO said: Another item on the agenda of the organization's electronic prescription system for chronic patients, including diabetics, is the possibility of prescribing for the same drug or diagnostic services in the coming months. Physicians can refer the insured to the pharmacy or laboratory to receive the same prescription by setting a future date for the prescription, and you no longer need to see a doctor to repeat the medication.
Also, in the conditions of drug shortage in the country, with the electronic prescription by doctors, it is possible to receive some items in other pharmacies, and in this regard, the number of insured to receive paper prescriptions to doctors has decreased.
